TV Ratings: 'The Voice' Rises for Best Finale to Date, CBS Dramas and ABC Comedies Grow
Up 11 percent from its most recent season ender, the NBC competition tops in the key demo and total viewers.
The third-season finale of The Voice brought an easy win for NBC on Tuesday, growing to season highs and its largest finale showing in the process. Early numbers give the two-hour episode a 4.9 rating among adults 18-to-49 and 14 million viewers -- a respective 11 and 18 percent higher than its most recent finale. With an encore of the previous night's performance episode at 8 p.m., the network averaged a 4.0 rating in the key demo and 12.1 million viewers for the night.

CBS still was strongest in total viewers (14.9 million), placing second in the demo (2.6 rating). All three of the network's dramas were up from the previous week's showing. NCIS (3.3) rose 18 percent, NCIS: LA (2.9) was up 12 percent, and Vegas (1.6) was up 7 percent.
Another encore of A Charlie Brown Christmas (1.7) was down a tenth of a point from the comparable airing this time last year on ABC, while original episodes of both Tuesday comedies grew. Happy Endings (1.3 adults) was up a tenth of a point in the key demo, as was Don't Trust the B---- in Apt. 23 (1.1). Private Practice (1.2) was steady, giving the network a 1.4 rating and 4.2 million viewers.

Comedy encores brought Fox a 0.8 rating in adults 18-to-49 and 1.9 million viewers. And on The CW, an encore of It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie averaged a 0.5 in the demo and 1.4 million viewers.
Univision brought in a 1.6 rating in 18-to-49 for the night.
