'The Following' Debuts Creepy New Trailer (Video)
A nearly three-minute teaser offers a glimpse into the dark world of Fox's serial killer drama.
Fox's upcoming serial killer drama The Following is terrifying -- and the newly-released "red-band" trailer shows you why.
A lengthy teaser for the thriller introduces the dangerous serial killer Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) and the lengths he will go to make former FBI agent Ryan Hardy's (Kevin Bacon) life a living hell. But it's not just a story of good versus evil; the past history between Joe and Ryan starts to be uncovered.

The footage is only a small glimpse into the dark, twisted and complex world born from the mind of The Vampire Diaries executive producer Kevin Williamson, including one very disturbing moment with a tattooed woman and a very sharp object. (Earlier Friday, Fox unveiled a provocative one-sheet highlighting that specific moment in the episode.)

The Following premieres Jan. 21 on Fox.
