MTV Cancels Randy Jackson's 'America's Best Dance Crew'
The reality competition series ran for seven seasons on the network.
MTV is getting out of the dancing business.
The cable network has canceled America's Best Dance Crew after seven seasons, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Produced by American Idol's Randy Jackson, the series featured dance crews competing for a $100,000 grand prize. During its 2008-12 run, the Warner Horizon series saw its ratings dwindle among MTV's core 12-34 demographic as the broadcast networks added efforts including America's Got Talent and So You Think You Can Dance.
"We are grateful to Randy Jackson and Warner Horizon for having brought our audience seven amazing seasons of dance with ABDC, and look forward to more successful and dynamic entertaining collaborations in the future," an MTV spokesperson said in a statement.
The series continues to be an international performer, airing in Canada, France and in the Philippines.
The long-running ABDC joins Jersey Shore as series ending their runs at MTV this year.
