Miss Venezuela's Awkward Answer at Miss Universe Pageant (Video)
The beauty contestant gets tongue-tied in response to the question: "If you could make a new law, what would it be?"
While Miss Venezuela didn't take home the Miss Universe 2012 title Wednesday night, she should win an award for Most Awkward Appearance as a Contestant on a Donald Trump-produced Televised Beauty Pageant.
Irene Sofia Esser Quintero gave an awkward, rambling, tough-to-watch response during the Q&A segment of NBC's broadcast in which the top five contenders attempted to demonstrate their smooth, on-message commentary before a judges' panel that included Cee Lo Green, Iron Chef star Masaharu Morimoto and Pablo Sandoval of the San Francisco Giants.

The question posed to Quintero: "If you could make a new law, what would it be? And explain why."
Her response: "I think that any leys [Spanish for "laws"] there are in Constitution or in life, are already made. I think that we should have, uh, a straight way to go in our similar, or, eh, in our lives as is this. For example, I'm a surfer, and I think that the best wave that I can take is the wave that I wait for it. So please do our only, eh, law that we can do. Thank you Vegas!"
(In her defense, Quintero opted not to use a translator, per Miss Brazil, choosing instead to answer her question in English.)
Miss USA Olivia Culpo won the title in the end -- the first American to do so since 1997 -- while Miss Philippines Janine Tugonon was the runner-up and Quintero came in third.
