Alec Baldwin Inks Overall Deal With Universal Television
Sticking with the studio after the impending end of "30 Rock," the actor and producer will develop new projects -- including potential starring vehicles.
Alec Baldwin is staying in business with NBC. Following a similar agreement with his 30 Rock co-star Tina Fey, Universal Television has signed the actor-producer to a two-year overall deal.
A Universal Television rep confirms to The Hollywood Reporter that Baldwin will develop and produce television projects, including potential starring vehicles, for the studio.

Baldwin, who has starred as Jack Donaghy on the NBC comedy since it premiered in 2006 and served as a producer since 2008, had implied that he might be taking a breather from entertainment after the conclusion of 30 Rock. He's hinted at political aspirations over the years, recently said he wanted to pursue "more of a normal life" and hosts a weekly program, Here's the Thing, on New York NPR station WNYC.
Fey signed a four-year overall deal with Universal in September. Joining the company as a Saturday Night Live writer in 1997 and creating the semi-autobiographical 30 Rock, she recently passed her 15-year mark as a presence at NBC.
30 Rock, which has won Baldwin two Emmys, six Screen Actors Guild awards and three Golden Globes, ends its run Jan. 31.
Baldwin is repped by CAA.
