It's official: AMC is moving forward with its companion series to mega-hit The Walking Dead.
The network on Friday announced it has ordered a pilot episode of the project from Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and producers Gale Anne Hurd and Dave Alpert. As previously announced, Dave Erickson, who co-created and co-wrote the pilot with Kirkman, will serve as exec producer and showrunner.
That's been one of the biggest lingering questions from the fourth-season finale of AMC's The Walking Dead — and judging from the season five key art tagline, "Hunt or Be Hunted," they very well may be.
In four seasons of AMC's zombie drama, the lovable loner-turned-leader's sexuality has yet to be been addressed — and comic creator/executive producer Robert Kirkman says that very subject has come up before.

Is AMC's The Walking Dead planning to bring in current comics villain Negan?
In a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment from the newly released season-five trailer, Glenn (Steven Yeun) seems to be in imminent danger from an unknown character seemingly armed with a baseball bat about to take a swing at his head (see photo above).
