World Series rises sharply, ABC unfazed

Baseball Fox's coverage of the World Series continues to perform well, while ABC keeps posting gains as baseball counter programming.

Game 4 was seen by 22.8 million viewers and drew a 7.8 in the adult demo, posting a whooping 53% gain gain over last year.

In second place, ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" (10.8 million viewers, 3.4) and "Desperate Housewives" (13.8 million, 4.9) were up 14% and 4%, respectively, compared to last week. "Brothers & Sisters" (9.4 million, 3.3) was flat.

The big game impacted CBS, with "Amazing Race" (11.1 million, 3.2) falling 6%, "Three Rivers" (7.7 million, 1.7) flat and "Cold Case" (8.6 million, 1.6) dropping 11% to its lowest telecast ever.

NBC had sports overrun and a movie.
