DJ AM's 'Gone Too Far' disappoints; 'Jon & Kate' up

Well ... that was a whole lotta trouble for a tiny audience.

The debut of MTV's DJ AM reality series "Gone Too Far" pulled only 500,000 viewers Monday night.

That's bottom-of-the-barrel for the network, which made the tough decision to go ahead and air the series despite DJ AM's death from an apparent drug overdose. An MTV spokesperson said the network plans to keep the show in the slot.

Meanwhile that tabloid ratings pogo stick, "Jon & Kate Plus 8," bounced up to 2.5 million this week. It was only at 1.3 million a couple weeks ago. Last week perked up to 1.7 million. Still miles from its mammoth premiere, of course.
