ABC gives 'FlashForward' a full season

Flashforward running ABC is on roll, the network just gave "FlashForward" a full-season pickup.

Last Thursday, ABC picked up comedies "Modern Family," "The Middle" and "Cougar Town."

The ABC Studios mystery-drama has performed admirably for the network in its competitive Thursday-night time period and has been well-liked by critics. It's premiere was the first regular scripted series since "Friends" to beat CBS' "Survivor" in its time slot.

"FlashForward" boosted its time period by 32% compared to "Ugly Betty" in the spot last year. When factoring DVR viewership, "FlashForward" gained a larger number (0.8) than any other freshman series (full premiere week DVR analysis here). Last Thursday's performance was a 3.0 in the adult demo, in second place behind CBS' "Survivor."
