The CW orders Tinsley Mortimer reality show
The CW has ordered a new reality show about a real-life gossip girl.
The network will explore the lives of the young and wealthy in a docusoap series following Manhattan socialite Tinsley Mortimer.
In 2002, Tinsley married Robert Livingston (Topper) Mortimer, the great-grandson of Henry Morgan Tilford, a president of Standard Oil. The Mortimers have now separated and Gotham gossip pages are tracking each new development. She's been described as "New York's pre-eminent young socialite." (NYMag.com even suspected Mortimer of shooting a reality show when she appeared at a party last April with five cameras).
Mortimer has appeared on the CW before, having made a guest appearance on the second season premiere of "Gossip Girl." She was also a guest judge on Bravo's "Fashion Show" this summer.
The CW has ordered eight half-hour episodes. Earlier this week, the network up another reality project, "Fly Girls," about flight attendants on Virgin America.
The Mortimer series is executive produced by Andrew Glassman ("Momma's Boys, "Average Joe"), who's repped by WME. Glassman, Mortimer and Mike Aho are credited as creators.
