Paula Abdul to host 'VH1 Divas'
Paula Abdul has lined up her first post-"American Idol" talent gig.
It's not ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" or Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance," but hosting cable network VH1's concert special "VH1 Divas."
VH1 is reviving the "Divas" brand after a four-year hiatus. Performers include Adele, Leona Lewis, Miley Cyrus and "Idol" winners Kelly Clarkson and Jordin Sparks.
But is this what Abdul had in mind when she quit "Idol"?
Negotiations with ABC to join "Ugly Betty" reportedly fell apart over Abdul making diva-like demands, while an offer to join "Dancing With the Stars" hasn't seemed to work out with the network announcing an Abdul-less lineup. Reports that she was still in talks for re-joining "Idol" were denied by her manager last week.
VH1 planned to announce the hire, but Abdul, true to form, leaked it on her Twitter account. "VH1 Divas" airs Thursday, Sept. 17.
