The post-fame comedy of Zach Galifianakis

Zach With WE paneling the weepy "Adoption Diaries" Friday morning, let's go transcript dumpster-diving to yesterday's TCA panel for HBO's upcoming comedy "Bored to Death," where co-star Zach Galifianakis had critics and fellow panelists rolling with his nonchalant deadpan reactions to post-"Hangover" fame.

On becoming a breakout comedy star:

"If I were 26 and this was happening, it would be all great, and I'd probably buy like 17 Dodge Vipers. But right now, it's just a major inconvenience."

On whether a sitcom is too modest for him now that he's a film star:

"If this were a 'Reba' sitcom, then maybe it would be an easier decision [to walk away]. But this is something you want to be part of."

After "Bored" co-star Ted Danson references "Cheers."

"I know. I know. I know. You tell me every 5 minutes. If it isn't 'Cheers,' it's f--king 'Becker.'"

On doing films instead of stand-up:

Galifianakis: "I'm really going to miss the Uncle Chuckles in Tampa ... It's the world I know and the thing I'm most comfortable with ... as soon as I'm a wash-up in a couple years, I'll return to stand-up."
