O'Brien, Letterman and 'Nightline' win late night

Conan letterman Who won the late-night ratings race last week?

Conan O'Brien won. NBC's "Tonight Show" took the ever-important adult demo, scoring 2.8 million viewers and a 1.1 rating in the demo. Yea Conan!

And David Letterman won. CBS' "Late Show" (3.7 million, 0.8) beat "Tonight" among total viewers. In fact, "Late Show" topped "Tonight Show" by the largest margin in nine years and narrowed the gap in the adult demo. Go Dave!

And ABC's "Nightline" won. For the third week in a row, "Nightline" (3.8 million, 1.0) drew more viewers than either talk show -- and without the benefit of an iconic pop star dying. This is the first time since 1996 the news program has managed this. So hurray for ... um, whoever's hosting "Nightline" at this point.

So congrats -- to everybody.
