Stanley Cup elevates NBC on Sunday

Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals lifted NBC to first place on a repeats-ridden Sunday night.
The hockey game, in which the Detroit Red Wings beat the Pittsburgh Penguins for a 2-0 lead in the series, averaged 2.3 rating/7 share among adults 18-49 from 8-11 p.m.
Factoring in the 1.1 rating/4 share for "Dateline Sunday" at 7 p.m., NBC averaged 2.0/6 for the night in 18-49, barely edging Fox (1.9/6), which aired reruns of its animated comedies.
CBS, which ran the most original non-sports programming on Sunday with "60 Minutes" (1.1/4) and "Million Dollar Password" (1.1/3) didn't get much traction with its fresh offerings from 7-9 p.m., which trailed most major network competition.
CBS still finished tops in total viewers for the night, averaging 7.2 million viewers.
