Is Conan's new 'Tonight' set from Super Mario?

Conan O'Brien's new "Tonight Show" set includes a wide range of colors, such as blue, turquoise, indigo, cobalt ... cerulean ... and ... uh, azure.

The backdrop has some critics advising against the comedian wearing any more blue shirts.

But what's the real reason for the design? Could it be that adding non-blue colors would reveal that the set's true inspiration is ... Super Mario?

Observe:

All hail Conan, ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom!

And thanks to Tim at SeriousLunch.com for the mash-up.

UPDATE: For those wondering, no, this was not meant to be real screen grab. It's a hoax. See here.
