'Star Trek' cast tackles hardcore fans on SNL

It's been 23 years since William Shatner famously told Star Trek fans to "Get a life!" on Saturday Night Live.

Last night, Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto of the new Trek movie, along with veteran castmember Leonard Nimoy, stopped by Weekend Update for a modern spin on an old gag. Only this time, Captain Kirk takes on longtime Trek fans who don't appreciate J.J. Abrams' revamp. Quinto: "You've got to stop harassing us."

Below: Last night's skit, followed by the Shatner original.

Here's the infamous 1986 "Get a Life" sketch, which is a more blunt take on Trek fandom (note: takes a moment to begin playing)..
