'Dance' makes gains; 'Spelling Bee' climbs

So you think you can Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance" continues to dominate in the ratings, rising from last week's premiere to easily top Thursday night.

The two-hour "Dance" (9.1 million viewers, 3.6 preliminary adults 18-49 rating) went up a couple tenths in the adult demo this week against nearly all repeats.

CBS placed second. ABC was third with its annual presentation of the National Spelling Bee (5.5 million, 1.5) and its annual cutting off of the end of the competition for DVR users. The two-hour Bee was up 25% from last year's Friday airing (though down 25% from its most recent Thursday edition). That should climb once the additional 16 minutes of overrun are factored. NBC was fourth, with the rest of broadcast airing repeats.
