'Family Guy' to parody 'Return of the Jedi'

Family"Family Guy" will extend its full-episode "Star Wars" parodies to the third film in the George Lucas series, "Return of the Jedi."

The show's cast completed a table read yesterday for a "Jedi" spoof script, which is tentatively titled “Episode VI: The Great Muppet Caper" (Ewok jokes never get old).

The animated hit's parody of "A New Hope" (which was titled, sort of confusingly at this point, "Blue Harvest," which is actually the production code name for the third film, "Return of the Jedi") was one of ... that parenthetical was so convoluted the start of the sentence is lost now, isn't it?

Do over: The animated hit's spoof of "A New Hope" was one of the show's all-time top-rated episodes and producer 20th TV sold the movie as a stand-alone DVD. For a studio, nothing beats having an episode so desirable that they can sell it solo, as it were, without needing to include the rest of the season.

The show's previously announced parody of "The Empire Strikes Back" is titled "Something-Something-Something Dark Side." Unfortunately, Fox won't air "Dark Side" until the fall. But with Carrie Fisher playing a recurring role on "Family Guy" as Peter Griffin's boss, there's some hope around the show's campfire that she'll do a voiceover in the "Empire" spoof (not as Princess Leia, since Lois plays Leia, but as another character...)

Here's a choice clip from the show's debut "Star Wars" spoof:

Listed below are links to weblogs that reference 'Family Guy' to parody 'Return of the Jedi':

Blue Harvest was the title used on one of the Star Wars sequels on t-shirts, paperwork and such to keep folks like paparazzi in the dark on what hey were working on.

Fanboys are sometimes so quick to spout off their knowledge that they fail to read the article in question. The author stated the meaning behind the "blue harvest" name in the third paragraph.

But you can still have a cookie.

what about Something, Something, Something, Dark Side

"Something, Something, Something, Dark Side" is an upcoming hour-long episode of the FOX animated series Family Guy and the sequel episode to the Star Wars parody "Blue Harvest". It will retell the story of Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back as "Blue Harvest" did with Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, recasting characters from Family Guy into roles from the film. It was originally scheduled to air as the 7th season finale

Douche-bags are sometimes so quick to talk shit that they fail to realize someone was clarifying something. The author stated "that parenthetical was so convoluted the start of the sentence is lost now, isn't it?" clearly implying that the explanation was confusing.

But you can still feel superior.

"Something, Something, Something, Dark Side" The Second of the Family Guy Parodies. Gets its title from the Dark Side of the Force. The mythical Blah, Blah, Blah that the apprentice Jedi commits to when he/she decides to become a Sith Lord instead.

Wow. The third and fourth paragraphs are some ridiculously lazy writing. You need an editor. And if you have one, he or she needs to be laid off.

Blue Harvest made me wish I was watching Star Wars instead.

It's not funny and is only entertaining when it exactly copies entertaining parts of Star Wars.

um, that's what he was doing---commenting on how the first comment was redundant. we read the explanation, and yet the first poster tried to clarify what was ALREADY clarified by the author.....yeah, way to go.....

Skipped ESB huh?

All good-these specials are awesome (ironically-they're the best thing to come out of FG lately)

No, it's the emperor's formula for star wars dialogue. they took it right out of a clip from a previous episode... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhnPaiSFVSE

chicks commenting on nubs and douchebags and fanboys all trying to out flame each other on asinine comment boards, oh wait daisy is a guy pretending to be a girl nvm.

what the hell is a "nub"

i've heard of noobs/newbs and what have you but never nubs

a nub is a PC gamer term of noob

a newb is a general term for a newbie

a noob is a console gaming term for sum1 hus crapper than sum1 hu has just started (a newb)

a nub is a PC/MMO term meaning the same as noob, also known as nuub/n008/|\|008

nub.

nub.

And you're too much of a douchebag to even use your name.

Bryan, you're my douche. I need a new douche, cause you are a crappy douche!

Sincerely,
Peppermint Patty

You guys are giving me a bad name.

a nub is what's left after one loses an appendage
Used in context:
As a child Tammy was angry about the combine accident that took her arm off at the elbow but as an adult stripper she cherished that nub, for it was her defining feature and inserting it into orifices was her greatest source of revenue.

nub is a nOOb way of saying newb.

leave it to the noOB to throw a wrench in a perfectly working system.

More intelligent writing from Seth McFarland. He's such a genius. Nobody repeats the same crap over and over like him. Quick throw in a Gary Coleman joke!!

Interesting, I wonder how they'll do it this time since last time it was as a narrative recited by Peter.

I watched a MUCH funnier show once and they said that Family Guy was written by manatees. I guess one of the manatees must have chosen the "Star Wars" idea ball again.

Hey "Jim Carrey" rip-off, his name is spelled Seth McFarlane, not McFarland.

Thanks for trying, though.

As for the same old jokes, I would rather watch Family Guy and laugh than the crap sit-coms on tv right now (except for Big Bang Theory). Good Lord, 30 Rock, Kath and Kim, that Jay Mohr abortion, Julia Louis-Dreyfuss (its just getting sad, now) and her failures. There are so many lame sit-coms right now, I think good comedy writing in Hollywood is gone.

Hey, "Family Guy Rules Newbs?" If you're going to correct someone, you should probably make sure you get it correct yourself.

It's "MacFarlane."

Anyone here out of high school? Didn't think so. Floyd cordially invites you all to eat shit.

A bag of weed, a bag of weed, if you like Family Guy you need a bag of weed.
