'Amazing Race' keeps climbing

Race After the nationals came in yesterday, Sunday night's "The Amazing Race" hit a 3.7 in the adult demo.

So far this season, "Race" has gone from a 2.6 premiere to another 2.6 to a 3.0, 3.1., 3.1, 3.6 and then 3.7. So from the debut to the most recent episode, that's a strikingly steep 42% climb (and compare that to how other seasoned reality shows have trended since their premieres this season).

Now "Race" had some help. Its first couple of Sundays, the show ran headlong into the Oscars and the start of Daylight Savings Time, lowering the expected viewership. And the most recent installment benefited from sports coverage that helped kick start CBS' lineup. But still, nobody is forced to watch a show and "Race" has clearly enjoyed a nice climb.
