E! orders background dancer docusoap

Music video background dancers will be front and center in the new E! reality series "Candy Girls."

The docusoap will follow the owner of a music talent agency and her two underlings as they fulfill the needs of such acts as Kanye West, Outkast, Jay-Z and Three 6 Mafia. The women will send their talent to events including the Grammys, the Super Bowl, album release parties and music video shoots.

The half-hour, eight-episode series is set to premiere March 8 after the Season 3 debut of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."

"This series introduces E!'s entertainment-obsessed viewers to an aspect of the industry that has not previously been revealed," said Lisa Berger, E! executive vp original programming and series development. "While these women may be recognized for their sexy personas, viewers will find there is much more to them than meets the eye."

Also, E! sister channel Style is set to announce a second-season pickup for its docu-series "Ruby," which follows an obese Georgia woman as she loses weight.
