MTV's 'Hills' spinoff disappoints

MTV had a double shot of modest ratings Monday night, with lackluster premiere numbers for two new  series seeking to capitalize on the popularity of "The Hills."

"The Hills" spinoff "The City," starring Whitney Port, averaged 1.6 million viewers at 10 p.m. -- down 38% from last week's "Hills" finale. New competition series "Bromance," starring "Hills" regular Brody Jenner, was lower -- averaging 963,000 viewers.

james hibberd once again writing about the lack of ratings? you can't painting this disparaging image of viewership, yet nobody is talking about the holiday preem OR the low ratings the hills premiered to. such a winer!

I think the City will turn around. Wouldn't underestimate ... You can vote for which shows you are most looking forward to in 2009:

I was so happy that MTV thought to make such a bromantic show, it brought a little tear to my eye...
