Hugh Jackman hosting the Oscars

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Friday made an unconventional choice to host the Oscars, tapping Hugh Jackman to preside over the show. Jackman did a fine job with the Tonys and insiders seem to like this pick. Hammy comedians feel pretty played out, though a quick-witted host who can crack a joke during an awkward segue, or after an unexpected blunder, still has its value. Full story at THR.

While not a conventional comedian, I think that Jackman's quick-wittedness was well documented during his time hosting the Tonys. So I don't think quick asides will depart in his presence.

I'm hoping for the full Wolverine costume. See pic: http://www.getentertainmental.com/2008/12/12/wolverine-to-host-the-oscars/
