ABC schedules 'Homeland Security USA'

Homeland ABC has filled another spot in its midseason schedule, deciding on a premiere date for reality series "Homeland Security USA."

The one-hour program documenting the efforts of security agents around the country will premiere Tuesday, Jan. 6, at 8 p.m. The decision replaces an hour of "According to Jim," which the network previously slated for the spot. "Homeland" was originally titled "Border Security." The new name emphasizes U.S. officials protecting the country against terrorism, rather than illegal immigration. A typical episode might jump from a border patrol in Texas to security screeners at a New York airport to a Coast Guard boat off Puerto Rico.

I can't be the only person in the country to wonder what this means for According To Jim can I???

oh wait i know exactly what it means---Jim being given a couple of extra weeks off before being called into action to fill yet another hole. Jim the ultimate space filler!

Wow. I am disturbed by the new TV show that is airing called US Homeland Security. Now ABC (also Disney) is in on: Mission Scare American Citizens and teach them that Islam is the Root of all Evil and so we should all convert. WOW

Um, from what I read theres nothing about Islam in the show. Maybe give it a chance before you are deeply disturbed.

"Every day the men and women of the Department of Homeland Security patrol more than 100,000 miles of America’s borders. This territory includes airports, seaports, land borders, international mail centers, the open seas, mountains, deserts and even cyberspace. Now viewers will get an unprecedented look at the work of these men and women while they use the newest technology to safeguard our country and enforce our laws, in “Homeland Security USA.”

This new show will not last. They need to give Eli Stone and Pushing Daisies a chance during midseason.

Why are people making negative comment and haven't even seen the show yet? Give it a chance, COPS was a hit and still is....same concept. Why do people have issues with men and women in uniform protecting America? I just don't understand? I have nothing but respect for these people and can't wait till it airs! who cares about Jim...seriously this show is the real deal, that's much more exciting and interesting than According to Jim!..oh and I will laugh if this show does last, because that would be so great for all those people who are so anti-goverment, and anti-law enforcement, it will just make them cringe!

Hey don't knock the proven capabilities and time tested (oh boy is it time tested) bullet proof timeslot proof little wonder that is According To Jim. That show has withstood 8, EIGHT!!!! years of tinkering and being moved around the sked like a rock skipping across a pond...and it has yet to sink. ABC brass should be thanking their lucky stars they lucked into such a capable hole filler....you know how rare a thing a time slot proof show is? as crappy as the quality---you can't knock that survivor rate--its very impressive.

Also How the heck has this thing lasted so long???? I will admit I got some enjoyment out of its first couple of seasons--but its looong past its prime now. i mean she got pregnent and had twins??? they have 5 kids now???? oy! it hurts now more then ever.

I think it's a great idea. My husband is a special agent and does a lot of unrecognized work to help America everyday. Go ABC! I will definitely watch.

This show may provide insight to those of us that provide the very response to incidents that occur on a daily basis. I am referring to vehicles stops by traffic officers that are unaware of the IEDs carried onboard. For example, college students from Fl stopped in South Carolina, while transporting explosives.

Homeland Security USA? Classic propaganda. More Americans die from peanut related allergic reactions than they do from terrorist attacks. Looks like ABC is putting this show out there just so the sheeple can get accustomed to martial law in the USA. A show like this glorifies the men and women who THINK they are working to protect Americans but are only further tightening the noose of the police state.

I think its very telling that the show was renamed "Border" to "Homeland" its more politically correct to harass law-abiding Americans than it is to protect them from foreign elements and illegal immigrants.

Yet "Line of Fire" and "Threat Matrix" lasted all of around 6 - 9 episodes...

This sounds like a real looser of a show that will probably go 13 seasons like that crap show "The Bachelor". What are these execs thinking???

They really need to get rid of that outdated ratings system called the Nielsen Ratings. It keeps killing the good shows and leaving all the crap on the air. They don't take into account the internet numbers, TiVo, PVR, etc. Anyone that takes a look at the download numbers for all of these shows on EZTV can easily see that these numbers should not be ignored!

Just look at what the fans did for "Jericho"! CBS ignored just how big the fan base was because they watched the Nielsen Ratings. CBS found out that the fan base was much larger than they could have imagined, and we proved it beyond a doubt with our "Nuts" campaign.

If you want to make changes in how and when shows get the axe, then you need to protest the way the shows are rated. Let the network execs know that the rating system they use is outdated and needs to be changed! Write letters, send postcards, send nuts! Let them know how pissed off you are that they want to cancel quality shows, the shows you love!

jericho did abysmal when it came back and once again got canceled. probably not the best evidence to plead your case.

Just a note to Citizen V, I work the border, and believe me when I say, we are not pushing a police state down here. If you were to cross the river and see how many people are butchered by the drug violence that exists in Mexico, you would learn to appreciate the jobs all of the Agencies in DHS do.

Papers Please.

Just more propaganda to acclimate the people to the coming police state/martial law/unwarranted search and siezure.

Jericho was probably cancelled by the government/illuminati/freemasons/zionists.

This article is real and these were NOT low grade fireworks. How would you feel if your children were near these devices?

Let's hope the bad guys don't stage an attack while it is showing. That would be doubly embarassing. The promos were all flags and fireworks. Bravado is great, but too often there is false bravado and that can do more damage than the attack itself. Keep Homeland Security hush-hush. They do fine work, but we had the "silent service" (submarines)in WW2 and we ought to keep operations covert. Sorry, but I don't want to turn security into entertainment. I hope the series bombs so the terrorists don't.

And do you really think they will pass that show if an attack occurs?

To all the LIBERAL jackasses making negative posts about Homeland Security, go back to your own countries and quit breaking down the U.S.A

Oh thats right, in your country they'd look your asses up and through away the key for voicing your opinion.

To all who think this show a bad idea well up yours. You should be thanking them and all the agents. They are out there protecting our borders from attacks and drugs. God Bless to all my Brothers and Sisters in Blue.

Wow! Some of these comments are quite scary. There seems to be a few not so happy people out there. If the people who think shows like this is propaganda, that this is a police state, and that our government is the worst government in the world, there are other countries where you can live. Maybe you can go to Mexico, or Iraq, or China, or maybe even the Congo. I almost began second guessing why I help protect people like this. Then I remembered why I do what I do. I help protect the FREEDOM that give people the right to say whatever they want and do whatever they want. This freedom also lets me say whatever I want and do whatever I want. It’s a shame that some people have to put down a show because they think it is the government trying to control them. Homeland Security USA is a show about people’s jobs. It is like COPS, Deadliest Catch, Axe Men, etc. For those who make rude comments about DHS jobs, how about ABC makes a show about your job? It would get old fast, because we would get tired of hearing, “Would you like fries with that?”

Also, for those who do not like law enforcement, the next time somebody swipes your wallet, steals your identity, takes your money, breaks into your house, rapes you mother, sodomize your sister, beheads your father, molests your brother, and do this while high on crack/heroin/meth, don’t call the cops. Remember, you don’t like us.
