NBC orders more 'Medium'

Mediumuse

where's my timeslot?

NBC has ordered a half dozen more episodes of "Medium," sources say.

The order brings the “Medium” total to 19 episodes from CBS Paramount, Picturemaker and Grammnet.

"Medium" producers have previously been told to have the show ready to return to air before the first of the year. Given that NBC has canceled "My Own Worst Enemy" -- which currently resides in the Mondays-at-10 p.m. time slot that housed "Medium" last season -- a return to its former home seems likely.

Last season NBC aired "Medium" without breaks or repeats after the holidays to avoid scheduling disruption of the show. Though that’s the preferred route to maximize viewership, its not clear if the network has another option than to get the show back on the air quickly.

Medium hasn't been Monday at 10pm since spring of '06, before Heroes started. It was use for the last 2 seasons as utility player, like this year and never at it's original Monday 10pm slot.

oh and that picture is not the right sister...wrong picture!

Story right. Medium was monday at 10 p.m.

Surprised CBS hasn't tried to poach "Medium." CBS Paramount co-produces the show and it seems like it would make a perfect Friday companion to "Ghost Whisperer."

Thoughts?

I love Medium. Never a great show but never a bad show.. always a really good show... completely consistent. I've missed it since the spring and wished it had started in the autumn.

But, I'd rather have an unbroken run of a show in five months rather than have a couple of additional episodes stretched out over nine. So, like with LOST, I'm OK with Medium starting in January as a fill in after something else has been cancelled. I almost wish all series were like that.. some would start in Sept, some in January and some in June. Would make more sense I think.

Look at the picture again. Right Arquette, I believe. Can't you see Anglica Huston in the back?

you know what? it would make a lot of sense for cbs to try and steal this for their friday night line-up. i believe had nbc decided to can it cbs might have very well explored that as an option. unfortunately cbs doesn't really need to pick up other network's shows so there's prob little point of that actually happening were nbc to get rid of medium. nbc should stick with medium tho cause its got a consistent following who follow it to whatever timeslot they stick it in...and that's nothing to get rid of.
