Fox tops Wednesday with World Series conclusion

UPDATED: After the Obama ad concluded Wednesday night, Fox ruled the evening with the conclusion of the World Series.

Wrapping up Game 5 of the Series  (19.8 million viewers, 6.2 national adults 18-49 rating) between the victorious Philadelphia Phillies and the Tampa Bay Rays took about an hour and a half. A pre-game (12.1 million, 3.7) bridged the gap.

CBS was second for the night with "The New Adventures of Old Christine" (7.6 million, 2.3) finishing out the 8 p.m. hour, about on par. "Criminal Minds" (14 million, 3.5)  and "CSI: NY" (13.8 million, 3.3) dropped significantly from last week against the heavy sports competition.

In third, ABC's  "Pushing Daisies"  (6.8 million, 2.3) was up by 21% from last week to a season high, benefiting from being the only entertainment programming on a major broadcast network at 8 p.m. ABC also aired "Private Practice" (7.7 million, 2.9) and "Dirty Sexy Money" (6.1 million, 2.0), both declining slightly.

Despite having the highest rating for the Obama ad, NBC landed in fourth place for the night. A 90-minute "Deal or No Deal" (8.3 million, 2.3) and "Lipstick Jungle" (4.6 million, 1.9) grew slightly from last week, however.

The CW's "America's Next Top Model" (3.9 million, 2.0) was on par, though the second week of "Stylista" (1.8, 0.9) fell a few tenths from its premiere.
