ABC pulls 'Opportunity Knocks'

Knocks ABC has pulled Ashton Kutcher's game show "Opportunity Knocks" from its lineup next Tuesday night, replacing the low-rated series with a re-cap of "Dancing With the Stars."

Three hourlong episodes have aired. Sources say ABC intends to air the six remaining hours at some point, possibly next summer, but has no plans to order additional episodes.

Tuesday's episode of "Knocks" dropped to a 1.3 rating among adults 18-49, falling 28% from its last airing, below what's considered an acceptable number for a midweek primetime program on a major network.

The show got off to a bumpy start last July at at the Television Critics Association press tour, debuted modestly, then dropped in the Nielsens while facing tough competitors such as "The Biggest Loser" and "House."

The show was produced by Kutcher's Katalyst Films and 3 Ball Productions.

Previous: Fox yanks "Do Not Disturb."

Has ABC ever heard of the baseball playoffs? People will watch the playoffs more than Knocks. Trust me the ABC network, wait until middle of November than decide. But I am glad its not cancelled altogether.

Well it's no wonder this reality show was pulled. Folks are burned out on reality tv, it stinks and folks are craving really good scripted drama and comedy. The one show ABC has and seems successful so far is "Life on Mars". I watched tonight's episode and I was laughing and enjoying the story. Reality shows just can't keep me interested I'm sorry. Maybe "Dancing with the Stars" but I'll come back and watch in November when they really narrow down the field. It's like baseball, to heck with the regular season all anybody cares about is the playoffs. Sorry but that's how I feel. LOL.

seriously, rt? have u ever watched the show? it's more of a family game show than it is a reality program (true, it's just symantics)

the show was actually one where i could sit down with my 10 year old and 6 year old and have a LOT of fun

I, for one, will be sad when it's gone

shows where you're head is at when you give a 'maybe' to 'Dancing With the Stars'... that's laugh-able

Opp Knocks had to be one of the worst shows on TV. Most reality TV sucks. The only show I still watch is Amazing Race just to see other interesting parts of the world.

i love love love 'live on mars'. i watched the first show and was hooked. the second show my 15 year old son watched with me and he is hooked too. he loves the music as much as i do so keep up the great work.

How do you pull a show after three episodes? First of all, ABC-love you, but there was not enough publicity on this program. Secondly, it competed with playoffs and new runs of so many shows. America was just started to get the feel of it and you remove it? Finally, a show that all of American can make popcorn for, sit with their families, and watch families come together, and it gets three runs? I'm yelling not fair. I say give the Producers another run, a fair run, and then lets make a judgement.

Hayden looks cute either way, but I’ m liking the long hair better. The“ Heroes” star stepped out with her new short look in Los Angeles at a“ Band From TV” concert. The group is made up of“ Heroes” co- star Greg Grunberg, Hugh Laurie on keyboards and James Denton of“ Desperate Housewives” on guitar. You can check out Hayden’ s cut here. By the sounds of the comments, some fans are in agreement that long is better.
