'Battlestar' finale; Heigl; 'Gossip' follow-up

-- "Battlestar Galactica" showrunner Ron Moore made sneak preview audience last night promise to not reveal spoilers from Friday's "mid-season finale." AintItCool has a detailed rundown of the Arclight screening and the post-screening Q&A (though avoid the spoiler-hinting talkbacks). The episode is a must-watch for fans. It's arguably the most important episode of the series. The ending is going to leave audiences very divided – and very curious about what happens next.

-- Katherine Heigl says she doesn't deserve an Emmy for "Grey's Anatomy." More precisely, she said: "I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination" ... then she promptly got out her keys and carved her name into the cars of the "Grey's" writing staff ... So let's recap: First she bashes her hit movie "Knocked Up" for being sexist (um, did she read the script first?). Now she undercuts her hit TV show for not giving her material worthy of her own Emmy standards. C'mon. If Patricia Arquette can pull out an Emmy-winning performance with scripts that have her bickering with dead people on "Medium," surely Heigl can make due with "Grey's."

-- Yup, the story about a "Gossip Girl" spinoff being planned based on Alloy Entertainment's "It Girl" book series is accurate. As is often the case with leaked projects, few want to publicly stand on a ship until they're certain it's seaworthy. The spinoff being successfully developed hinges on season two ratings of CW's "Gossip," but you already figured that. As another publication noted: "A well-placed source inside the CW also tells me there are no current plans for a spinoff; however, 'If the second season does as well as we expect it to, then we'll probably try to make it happen.'" Huh ... if there's no plan, then what is there to make happen?
